Today’s opera is Handel’s Giulio Cesare which takes to the stage in Winter 2011.

Set in ancient Egypt, murder, battles, disguises, revenge and rebellion ensue before Roman emperor Giulio Cesare and Cleopatra emerge finally triumphant in both love and war and Egypt regains peace once more.

The critically acclaimed cast includes international sensation Pamela Helen Stephen in the role of Cesare alongside Sarah Tynan, Cleopatra, who makes her Opera North debut.
